Climate change is already having an impact on the sea level rise in the Northern German Islands. For example, to prevent flooding, large amounts of sand have been hauled along the Sylt coast. A new artificial natural landscape is being created. For this photo series, the dunes of the Norderney Island were subtly manipulated at night using artificial lighting.
